We're glad you asked! Bjørn uses industry leading ultra-thick, 12 GA (2.6 mm), steel design sealed in black powder-coating. We dare you to find tougher brackets.
For a long-lasting pergola, go with pressure-treated wood or weather-resistant lumber like cedar. Just make sure your timbers are 3.5” x 3.5” (4x4) or 5.5” x 5.5” (6x6) for a perfect bracket fit.
Other woods, like Douglas Fir, work great too—just be sure to seal them properly to keep them protected over time!
We don't currently offer shade sails but each kit comes equipped with shade sail brackets that make mounting a shade sail a breeze.
